rowing cataractHop aboard the raft and the 2000 foot canyon walls ramp up as we make our way to Cataract Canyon. The Colorado River meanders calmly for the first fifty miles. Optional interpretive hikes explore archeological ruins and magnificent side canyons.

We camp on one of the river's sandy beaches. You can relax and enjoy the sunset as your guides cook a hearty western-style meal over an open fire.

The next day we pass the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers. Let the whitewater begin. We navigate such legendary rapids as Mile Long, Ben Hurt, and Hell-To-Pay, before arriving at the granddaddy of them all -- the Big Drops. Our row boats provide for an excellent ride and great fun though the whitewater rapids.

Needles 4x4 trailAfter an action-packed day we arrive at camp for another delicious riverside meal. We leave the dizzying canyon walls below us as we fly from Hite Marina to the remote Needles District. Here, you'll meet your 4WD guide for another two nights, and begin the backcountry overland segment of your trip.

We'll travel deep into the Needles country following a rugged trail over Elephant Hill. You'll be amazed at the beauty of this unlikely landscape. We'll hike through the narrows of the Joint Trail en-route to spectacular Chesler Park.

You'll visit the Confluence Overlook, a high vantage point which you'll remember from your raft trip just days before. We'll visit numerous archeological sites along with other short hikes into exciting canyons.

Canyonlands National Park along with its beautiful beaches, whitewater rapids,  geologic oddities and historic sites is the ultimate adventure. Only NAVTEC Expeditions offers this trip of a lifetime. Join us into a canyon wilderness that is beautiful beyond description!
