Canyonlands Island in the Sky 4x4 Camp-out $592
The White Rim trail of Canyonlands National Park is world famous. This three day 4x4 expedition travels 100 miles around the Island in the Sky-- cruising, enjoying the sights, and camping with views of Canyonlands that are pure joy. Join us as we touch on the geology and observe the flora and fauna of this memorable wilderness.
On the White Rim Trail we are on middle ground; soaring cliffs, mesas, and buttes rise above us. While a myriad of canyons converge on the Green and Colorado Rivers below. The views and vistas are incomparable. Don’t worry we watch the road so you can enjoy the red rock country. Our dependable 4X4 vehicles transport us down the Colorado side and back up the Green River side of the Island in the Sky. The trail is considered moderate in difficulty but very unique for its 100 miles of near perfect conformity. The four wheeling is especially good down the Shafer Trail, over Murphy Hog Back and up Hardscrabble hill.
There is ample time for exploring, relaxing, and discovering this inspiring wonderland. Guided hikes find hidden passages, and secret canyons below the White Rim. Easy strolls lead to Musselman Arch, the Goose Neck of the Colorado River, and the Turks Head of the Green River. We’ll look into Monument Basin to see the great standing rock and twin canyons. Those looking for adventure descend into a slot canyon (non-technical) or traverse a ridge to the Fort Bottom Ruin. All hikes are optional as is the time spent in a camp chair contemplating the vastness of Canyonlands.
Each night we make camp in this remarkable wilderness. Our camp etiquette ensures minimum impact to the fragile dessert. Guides fix all your meals, including snacks, and the food is delicious. Named "color country" by photographers, the evenings in Canyonlands can only be described as magical. Rental camping gear is available (tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads). Private vault toilets are maintained at each campsite by the NPS. No previous outdoor experience is necessary for you to have a fun enjoyable vacation. Charters, mountain bike groups, and those looking for custom itineraries should contact our office.
