Our journey begins with a visit to Horseshoe Canyon's Great Gallery, a celebrated archeological site. Here, magnificent, mysterious, life-size pictographs—masterpieces of ancient North American rock art—testify to a human presence in these canyons millennia ago.

After hiking out of Horseshoe Canyon, we'll set camp above Millard Canyon. As guides prepare a delicious dinner, sit quietly and watch the sunset paint the White Rim canyons below. Listen for the yelp of coyotes as the Milky Way claims the night.

The Maze is a legendary Wild Bunch country. Outlaws like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid rustled cattle and hid out in the nearby Robbers Roost. We will do a non-technical out-and-back into High Spur, an extremely photogenic slot canyon once frequented by these notorious outlaws.

Later, our 4x4 travels down the switchbacks of the Flint Trail and across rugged Teapot Canyon to our camp in the Land of Standing Rocks.

The next day, we hike deep into the Maze to the Harvest Scene pictographs. The twisting, colorful canyons along the ridge to Pete's Mesa and the Chocolate Drops make this one of the greatest hikes in Canyonlands. Our final night is spent at the Doll House, a fantasy-land of sandstone pinnacles and spires, complete with a wholesome meal and cosmic sunset.

The next morning, after a short hike to an incredible view of the Colorado River, we will begin our journey home, passing Arch Ridge and Sunset Pass. 

This big, wild, and beautiful country will make you feel stronger. You will leave with a longing for this remote desert wilderness. Many guests choose to add extra days for epic hikes, slot canyons, or a thrilling trip down the rapids of Cataract Canyon. Scenic flights are also available as a return option.
