Our first day is dedicated to the serene, calm waters meandering along the Colorado River. We spend the day floating beneath towering canyon walls, with opportunities to hike to refreshing waterfalls or epic vistas. By lunchtime, you'll be completely synchronized with the river's slow, easy rhythm. Late afternoons are perfect for relaxing in the shade of the boat’s bimini, watching the stunning geologic formations pass by in the warm desert air.

We establish a simple and comfortable camp along the banks, where guides will explain our minimum-impact camping etiquette. A hearty, western-style meal, prepared from fresh ingredients with the culinary expertise of a campfire cook, awaits. We'll drift off to sleep under the darkest skies, lulled by the sounds of the river.

Day two begins with a hot cup of coffee and a robust breakfast. Then, it's time for the thrilling whitewater! Thirty powerful rapids, ranging in difficulty up to Class V, roll through the canyon. Legendary challenges like the Big Drops, Mile Long, and Hell-to-Pay await river runners. The whitewater RHIB is unmatched in stability and pure excitement as we shoot the rapids. This unique craft—a Navtec Expeditions exclusive—allows us to surf waves and play effortlessly in the currents and eddies, maneuvers simply not possible in standard rafts.

Cataract Canyon boasts some of the biggest whitewater in the United States during the powerful spring run-off in May and June—the ideal time for truly wild rapids. After July, water levels become more moderate, producing smaller but still thrilling whitewater.

After conquering the final rapids, we head for Lake Powell, allowing time to reflect on the beauty and excitement of the trip. You have three flexible options for your return: ground transportation back to Moab, a spectacular 45-minute scenic flight, or having your personal vehicle conveniently shuttled here for your arrival.
