A full day adventure exploring Arches National Park. Hike to unusual geologic formations, narrow twisting slot canyons and remote arches in the Fiery Furnace. Then take a backcountry 4x4 tour into the Klondike Bluffs, an area of Arches that few get to experience.

Circle PictographWe start the day with the number one desert hike in Arches National Park, the Fiery Furnace. Our route is moderately strenuous in places, but can be enjoyed by anyone in reasonably good physical condition.

Klondike Bluffs Arches National ParkThrough slot canyons and subway passages we visit hidden arches, spires, and fins. We scramble up narrow cracks and across ledges to the most amazing places.

After the hike we continue on to the Devils Garden for lunch.

This is where we start the backcountry 4x4 tour. The trail climbs a steep, but short rock wall, cuts across a valley and meanders through sandstone fins and dunes. En-route we pass the Marching Men, Tower Arch, and the Eye of the Whale. We exit via an old cowboy trail and see Dinosaur tracks on our way back to Moab.

Trip Details:

Toyota Landcruiser on Salt Valley 4X4 trailYour full-day Arches 4x4 and Fiery Furnace hike begins at 7:00 AM at the NAVTEC office in Moab. Please arrive at our office 15 minutes early. We will take you to Arches National Park in our 4X4 vehicles and return you when the trip ends. Reservations are recommended.

  • $15 per person deposit is required to confirm space on the trip. Your balance or final payment is due no less than 2 days prior to trip departure. Reservations made within 2 days of departure require payment in full when the trip is booked.
  • Cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to departure receive a full refund less a $10 per person cancellation fee. Sorry no refunds within 48 hours of departure WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
